Lake Geneva
Actually the town in Lake Geneva; the lake is Geneva Lake. Geneva Lake is the second deepest lake in Wisconsin (5,262 acres, 135 feet deep, 21 miles around, 2.1 miles wide, and 7.6 miles long). For sightseeing, this is one of the best lakes in the Midwest. Beautiful mansions and estates line the shores. Some of these are historic mansions, such as the Black Point Mansion, with its four-story tower, built in 1888 (still a private residence) and The Stone Manor built in 1900 (now housing six luxury condominiums).
Although the general size of the lake would indicate that it is suited for all types of water sports, it is generally too rough for skiing. On the weekends, there are a lot of boats out on the water and some of the boats are very large. If you do want to ski on the weekends, it is a good idea to be done by 10:00 a.m. before the lake begins to get crowded.
Although there are a lot of public and private docks on this lake, it is very difficult for a daily boater to dock up and enjoy the various restaurants available around the lake. For instance, there are no available temporary docks in the town of Lake Geneva. Fontana offers some docks but they are hard to find and not often available.
